Heroes Attention: Oi!!! It's me again, the one who always do a shit to everybody...since 1997 I have been doing a boring stuff like fanzine. My very first ever fanzine was Le Beat, a fan-magazine which talks about life, ska, punk rock, history of music (roots), etc....and I'm proud of all the kids in the 90's who managed to buy a 10-peso junk or even trade with me of other fanzines and CDs. On the first issue of Le Beat, I've had an interview with the Brown Beat All Stars and am very proud to have experienced it. I even remembered that during that time when I've escaped from my R.O.T.C class just to be present on that interview and to check the band out during their rehearsal. Anyway, Le Beat fanzine was not the only fanzine which I wrote...there's also a newsletter which I produced, "Mantra", which talks about Krishna consciousness and little views concerning the traditional political issues of our country...EARTH'S FINAL WARNING is the latest fanzine which I wrote in 2003 and 2004 which talked about skinhead life and street punks. I must admit that it's very hard to keep fanzine-writing a part of one's life coz I can say it's just like having another set of family that needs support, both financially and morally. Despite of this, it's fun and exciting wherein you earn new friends and interests...Attention to all you kids who read and even those who haven't read any fanzines, don't just be satisfied with what we write...this may serve as your fire starter, go out and start your own fanzine...DIY! (do it yourself)... It’s been a while- more than 2 years since this 3rd issue appeared and I apologize to all the labels and kids out there that I didn’t answer their letters because it’s been a long story…been even got into trouble with a policeman, beat him up and put his face against the wall, ended up in jail for one week, and got to attend a couple of trials for my case. This has cause me to lie low on my fanzine career and have to concentrate first on how to get away with this problem. I was also surprised to know that my P.O. box in the Philippines also got ripped off so there were only a few reviews and letters I received. Thank God Captain Oi Records still had my snail mail, so I still received their latest records for reviews. Although by that time I flew back to Qatar on February of 2005 so my mother got hold of the records in my behalf which still took time for me to receive the records cause she has to send it over here in Qatar and really this cost me a lot. I found work here, got busy cause I have to sort of wipe my supervisor’s ass just to do good in my job and got my wife pregnant also and she delivered last September 2, 2006. So it’s been a hell of two years and have to gather up my resources again just to make this issue. Still it’s better late than never and I’ m glad I had it all worked out to make this issue possible. Thanks to my wife cause she had helped a lot most financially and spiritually for me to make all these things possible. I’ll still continue to do my best in supporting the skinheads, punks, rude boys and all the supporters of the underground scenes so here’s a toast to all of us. Cheers!
