When Frontkick were founded in Berlin by newly arrived
Mallorcians Marti Neurotic and Victor Bisonte, nobody could
have expected the direction the band was to take in the years
to come. Over years of constant touring, line-up changes and
hard work, the sound of Frontkick evolved from the raw,
hard-hitting Streetpunk of the early days to a far more
melodic and sophisticated style of their own. New influences
and improving musicianship found their way into the songs
without sacrificing the most important characteristics of every
Frontkick anthem: great songwriting, honesty and an energetic
performance! The band released two full length albums and
several singles over the years, all the while maintaining a
busy touring schedule that took them to countries all over
Europe. New friends were made, thousands of miles were
travelled and the list of both old favourites and up and coming
bands sharing the stage with Frontkick grew longer and longer.
Marti Neurotic, charismatic lead singer and guitar player,
has been with the band from the very start.
The other members of the current Frontkick line up are
guitar player Martin B., bass player Stephan 103.,
and the most recent addition on the drums - Vovka M.
Between them, they share the experience of countless
shows and weeks of touring, always giving a 100% no
matter what stage they are playing on. Anyone who has
seen the boys perform one of their kick-ass live shows
lately will have no doubt that this is the strongest
incarnation of Frontkick ever!
The release of “The Cause of the Rebel”
marks the next step in the history of FRONTKICK.
Their third full-length LP is the latest document
of continuing musical development, packed to the rafters
with 14 brand new songs that once again show FRONTKICK
on top of their game. The experiences of years of touring,
improving musicianship, and new personal and musical influences
have brought about a constant evolution from the raw,
hard-hitting Streetpunk of the early days to the far more
melodic and sophisticated style that defines the sound
of FRONTKICK in 2007.
Along the way, FRONTKICK have managed to maintain the
honest energy that has been the heart and soul of every
FRONTKICK show since the very beginning. Top this off
with great songwriting, a clever hand for the right melodies and hooklines
and a tight live performance by a band that actually has a
meaningful message to convey and the result is what crowds
all over Europe have come to appreciate. The sound of FRONTKICK
has grown into something distinctly of their own, owing as much
to musical influences from both sides of the Atlantic as to
the unique atmosphere in their hometown Berlin and the truly
international cast of band members. “The Cause of the Rebel”
is all about capturing this, the essence of what FRONTKICK are all about.
