HCA was created in 1988 by boyhood friends Terry and Chris. What started out as a fun joke band would wind up doing what everyone around them said was impossible. Even though the lineup has undergone many changes over the years, the original lineup of Terry, Chris, Mark, Jamie, and Caleb will always be the best. This is not to take away from the many wonderful musicians who have graced the band over the years. Although they may not have seen eye to eye at times, they will always be appreciated for what they contributed to the bands success. Terry is an extremely driven individual who sets his sights on taking it as far as he can, so long as there are people out there that get it and want to hear the band; and over the years that number has increased much to his surprise. Not known for his patience with halfassed work or commitment, he always wanted everyone involved to grow and share in the success he knew the band would have. To this day he remains grateful to those who helped and apologizes for not being patient enough to see their side of things. Those individuals above all others caused him to take a step back; look in the mirror and realize he needed to change his character as well. HCA lost original drummer Caleb Shannon to liver disease in 1991 and was never forgotten. Mark Fleener stayed with the band up until 2001 when he decided to go back to school and finish a radiology degree. Chris Prather moved to Cocoa, Fl. and started the Green Goblyn Project. Chris is still an active member when he is not obligated to his band; Jamie Fritching moved to New York. HCA has had the pleasure of touring with, and befriending many great bands over the years, including many of our influences like the Subhumans, Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, NOFX and others; both on our own tours and and a few stints on the Vans Warped tour. For this we grateful and happy to continue doing it to this day. We decided to just give some highlights of HCA's past and some of the low points. Anyone who wants to know more can just ask us, in the meantime we just ask that people listen to the music which has stood the test of the times, and the new tunes that come out and judge for themselves. Use your own minds and break those fucking boundaries that people put up out there. Have fun and enjoy life, that’s what HCA is and always will be about. And as always, to those over the years and who currently support us, we love you so much and we know we would be shit without you. We are looking forward to meeting you all on tour. We do our best to respond to all the mail we get but sometimes it takes awhile, so please be patient. Thank you all. HCA
