Band Bio

OK, so here's the deal... Van Nuys 1990: Chris "XL" Long-guitar (ex-Bad Samaritans, Damnation, Glue Gun, Haunted Garage and more) hooks up with Gizz "G.Lo" Lazlo-lead vocals (current lead singer for KILL DETAIL [formerly JUGHEAD'S REVENGE], ex-BadTown Boys, UK Subs, DeRita Sisters, For Sale, Camelboy [from Bremen, Germany] and many more) and Steve "XploStevO" Simpronio-bass (For Sale, Bedlam, Ritalin). In 1995 they get "Flying" Ike Robison-guitar (ex-BadTown Boys, Electric Ferrets), which refuels the band and their sound and in 2007 they get hooked up with Don "No Nickname As Of Yet" McCurdy-drums (ex-Twister Naked, Mojo Rib, The Bottom Feeders) and the magic just seems to happen.

During the 17 years of DLP there were other people who came and went like; Luis E. (The Grim, For Sale, Buford, Kill 99), Jeff Yearsley (For Sale), Jeff Edwards (Glue Gun, ifoundgod, 99 Pound Gorilla), John, Paul, Ringo, George (okay, there was never a Ringo or George but that was funny! Sheesh, maybe not!), John Baker (Mad Beat Vision, The Pissing Idiots, 99 Pound Gorilla), Paul Luke (Shutdown, Red Sky Warning, Verses the Sun), Eric King, Todd Guzman (The Electric Ferrets), "Angry" John DiMambro (Agent Orange, Down By Law), Stephan X (Foreign Object, BadTown Boys), Sharif Dumani (Something From Nothing, Buford, The Dining Room Set, The Moon Upstairs) and Dave Perry (Psychedelicatessen, Bad Samaritans, Foreign Object).

The whole idea behind DLP is to play no-bullshit rock and roll with a punk ethic and attitude. Think hard, fast, loud and melodic with a sense of humor. They've played way too many shows to count locally, they've recorded a bunch of CDs and have toured nationally a bunch of times.

Influences, as they've been told are; Motorhead, Doughboys, Leatherface, Snuff, Pegboy, Samiam, Black Flag, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Poison Idea, The Beatles, The Stones, Social D., Sam Kinison and Redd Foxx. Just good-ol' fashion, out-of-control "beer swillin' punk rock 'n' roll" kinda stuff.

Some interesting facts about DLP are; Gizz, who was the original drummer from 1990-1992 was diagnosed with cancer in 1992 and was out of commission for 2 years and when the band reformed in 1994 Gizz permanently switched to lead vocals. They were once introduced to the stage by NBA All-Star (Pistons & Lakers) and TV/Radio personality, John Salley for a "Battle of the Bands" at the Troubadour in 1997. Gizz was shot in the left forearm on Halloween night 1999 in Corpus Christi, Texas while on tour with DLP pulling double-duty as their lead singer AND drummer. They've been approached by Atlantic Records... twice!! They've recorded more albums (CDs) than they've released. They've written over 140 original songs to date and recorded somewhere in the neighborhood of 170 songs (including covers, demos and live album tracks). They've been sponsored by Schecter Guitars, Axis Drum Pedals, Sabian Cymbals, Yoo-hoo Chocolate Drink, Puma Shoes & Clothing, Porn Star Clothing, Choice Snowboards, NLA - No Limit America Clothing, Crime Pay$ Clothing, Allegience Cycles plus a whole bunch of other companies who shall remain nameless for legal reasons but in 17 years they've never been sponsored by the one company they actually promote the most... Budweiser. Hmmmm, strange! They've licensed many songs worldwide to media outlets for television and radio commercials most recently to Snickers (yeah, the candy bar) and an upcoming television game show called "Showdown". MTV's "True Life" featured a DLP tune in an episode and The Discovery Channels "Monster Garage" used a song for a video released on the internet. Check it out at: www.monstergarage.com. They've all hit their 30's long, long, long, long ago. Steve used to have long, flowing, golden hair and so did Ike except his was curly and brown. Don has cut himself shaving more than a few times and actually owns two sets of cymbals. As for Chris, he lives right down the street from... well, just about everyone... maybe even you
